Home Automation
We hear the term “Home Automation” often, but what exactly is it? Home Automation essentially is utilizing a system to control the mechanical systems in your house. Lighting, climate control, home security, irrigation systems, and audio/video are all systems that can be controlled from a single interface. Pressing a button labeled “Goodnight” can turn off certain lights, set the temperature, turn off electronics, and arm the security system. All of this can be done while at home, or remotely in the event you are at work or perhaps on vacation.
A common misconception is that these systems are highly expensive or can only go into large homes. The truth in fact is we offer home automation systems that are scalable, so you have the freedom to use the system in any size residence, from a two bedroom condo to a 15,000 sq ft home. The end result will be a system that provides energy savings, convenience, and complete control of your residence.
Lighting
A lighting control system offers many benefits that can assist you in your everyday routine. Here are some that we feel are beneficial:
Home Security We can program lights to automatically come on/turn off at certain times to simulate your residence being occupied while on vacation. You can also ensure that you will never come home to a dark house again by having your system integrated into a visor mounted control for your vehicle, or the homelink system in your vehicle(if equipped). With one button press you can light up your residence as you pull into the garage. We can also integrate the lighting system into your security system, so in the event of an alarm the lights inside come on and the outdoor lights begin to flash.
Energy savings- Having lights turn off automatically will prevent high utility bills that occur when lights are accidentally left on for hours at a time. We can also install wireless occupancy sensors to ensure lights turn off when you leave a room.
Convenience- Instead of having to walk upstairs before bedtime to check and make sure all of the lights are off, you can walk up to a keypad or press a button on your phone/tablet and ensure that all the lights are in fact off. Whether you are entertaining, or getting ready to relax and read a book, one button press is all it takes to set the lights to a pre-determined setting and create the perfect atmosphere.
Security
A home security system installed by Future Renovation can do more than make noise when activated. By integrating it into the home automation system installed at your residence, the system will not only notify the monitoring facility to contact the police, but can be programmed to contact you so you are aware something is occurring in the event you are away from your residence. In addition, because it is integrated into your automation system, it can turn on all the interior lights in your residence and also flash the exterior lights to alert neighbors and responding police/fire authorities where the alarm is coming from. To further give you peace of mind, disarming your system upon arrival can also turn on and control lighting in the house, so you never have to walk into a dark
home again.
Surveillance camera systems offer you the ability to watch over your residence while you are away, or quickly see outside if you are home and hear something. We can integrate your home security camera system to display on the televisions throughout your residence, so you can easily scan the perimeter of your home should you hear something, or use it to monitor a newborn child while they sleep.
Our Interactive Services, powered by Alarm.com, enable you to manage all of your systems—security, energy, and home automation—from your smartphone, computer, or web-enabled device (like an iPad)
Climate Control
The average household spends around $2200 annually on energy bills, with almost half of that coming from HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning). With an automated climate control system, you can take control of your system to ensure it’s only in use when you need it to be. For example, adjust the temperature before you leave work to head home from your smartphone, or have the system automatically make adjustments based upon events such as the security system arming/disarming.
